Coming Up with Creative Invitations
The role of parent requires adults to wear a number of different hats. One day you’ll feel like a domestic servant, cooking, cleaning and dressing the kids. The next day, you might feel like psychologist, dispensing advice and comfort. But for many parents, the toughest role to play is graphic designer.
Most new parents are really surprised when they realize how often they are called upon to create artistic works from scratch, including birthday party and Halloween invitations. In fact, parents can pretty much count on making every invitation for their kids until they order pre-printed wedding and/or graduation invitations.
The good news for less artistically inclined parents is that making these mini works of art does not have to be a time consuming or frustrating. There are plenty of good craft books at your local library that provide easy to use templates for all sorts of invitations. These books, and many websites, remove the hassle of coming up with a new invitation idea for every single event.
Childhood is a special time that goes by entirely too fast. Before you know what happened, you’ll be sending out graduation announcements and shipping them off to college. So enjoy this opportunity to make things for them while you can.
